Dinner at Rasika…….incredible Indian food!

Chinatown in DC…just before the Indian restaurant

Whew…a whirlwind day and it’s still going!!! We just returned from an incredible Indian resturant just outside of Chinatown in DC.  It is still crazy hot out but bearable and the food was sooooooooooo yummy.

We had a number of dishes including flash fried spinach (melted in your mouth), Lamb in a spicy cream curry, Chicken Tikka, a paneer cheese dish like we have never had before…….outstanding!!!  And a panacotta for desert with saffron as the main seasoning.  I had rose petal tea and Steve a very nice unsweetened Chai.  We both highly recommend this place if you want a special meal with a little bit of spice to it.

  1. mmmmm..Indian food……i had my first “home made” Indian food a few months ago at my nieces graduation.  her fiance and she graduated from med school and his parents came over from Bombay.  my siser in law cooked american and Som’s mom and dad cooked Indian.  i have had it in restaurants…..but nothing like home made!!!  even got her recipes!!!  chicken tikka was wonderful, paneer with peas was awesome, samosa…..everything was so fresh and good.  many more dishes i cannot even remember.  anytime you travel, im always looking at the food you eat.  i love new things!!!
