An angry sky and BEST OF the squirrel cam today

A mean sky....taken with the Iphone after a hail storm

What a beautiful day it started out to be, then it poured, then it hailed , then the sun came out, then it snowed a few flakes..then back to sun again!! It got to nearly 50 degrees today!! We must be living in the Pacific NW!!

I took this photo above as we were coming home from an awesome Korean restaurant.  Had some of the best Bulgogi pork I have ever eaten in a wonderful bento box full of a variety of Kimchee and other goodies!! Just a perfect lunch with my hubby who is on vacation!

CHECK OUT THAT FANCY TAIL!! HE IS ABOUT 5 FEET FROM MY STUDIO WINDOW

So today was the groundbreaking first LIVE broadcast from my Studio Cam….I am just experimenting around right now  with times of day to broadcast and rearranging bird feeders etc but you can catch me with the squirrels and my dogs outside  (or creating stuff in the studio) from 9:00 AM PST until NOON weekdays!!!  When I see something interesting outside I will pop in with the audio so have your volume turned on.

Crazy squirrel!!! On my windchime

As I was sitting in the window talking to my cam visitors this morning, one of the crazy squirrels decided to climb onto my fused glass windchime. The circles are suspended from a big hunk of driftwood which he thought was a stationary branch apparently.  The sound those chimes made was deafening as he tried to balance and not fall.  My dogs were below so he was working it for all he was worth!!

I grabbed the camera, shooed the dogs inside and he was literally FROZEN in place in a perfect balancing act.  Finally after about 5 minutes he got up the nerve to slink off carefully as the chime drifted closer towards a branch.  WHEW .  That was one happy squirrel  to get off of that wild carnival ride!!

  1. Our two Chow Chow girls. Nona and Lowla, also have a squirrel they play with. Their squirrel is very sassy, and loves to taunt and tease them. He will climb down the almond tree head first to within 6-8 inches of sharp, shiny Chow Chow teeth, to chatter and scold, while boldly swishing his fluffy tail. (Perhaps we have some “tail envy” going on here!) He is a regular visitor as he moves our walnuts and almonds from our yard to his, and he has become a source of entertainment for all! There is a neighboring Red-Tailed Hawk and a Goshawk pair that also have their sharp eyes on him, and I am more concerned for his safety from that direction than from Nona and Lowla. It has amazed me to see the girls’ anticipating his next move and then “double teaming” his egress routes in their continuing game of “Squirrel for Breakfast.”

  2. Hello Gena!! It’s so awesome to hear from you!! Happy New Year!! We are still sloshing around in all the dampness but survived the worst of it. What a mess.

Tell your daughter my camera is a Canon 40D with a 100-400mm zoom for a good portion of my pix. There are some rockin Canons out there now that are easier to use, less expensive and outstanding quality. If you need info just let me know.

Hmmm where were you trying to link to the site from? If you type in http://www.graffitijewelry.com does it come up? I need to look into why you can’t see the site. It’s been running all along. Thanks for the heads up!!! Hugs Sandra

  3. Hi Sandra! Just popping to say Happy New Year to you too! Love your photos as always. My 14 yr old daughter (budding photographer) was drooling over your photos and wants to know what your camera is. When will your site be back up and running? When I click on your main link it goes to a page does not exist message. Hope the both of you survived the massive rain that we had during the week!
