With such a late start to the summer weather I’m glad to have some blooms now when most other gardens are going bare. My pride and joy are my banana trees which have survived the last 3 winters here in Portland when they really shouldn’t have! BANANA TREES AND “MORNING LIGHT” MISCANTHUS The grass absolutely glows in the afternoon light. The hardy banana is about 12 feet tall to give you an idea of scale IN THE STUDIO…some moonbear luvin It has been almost 6 months since my trip to Animals Asia Foundation in Chengdu China and I am already looking forward to my next adventure to see the moonbears. After a lot of thought about what to do next for a fundraiser, I decided we should Befriend another Bear at AAF, and this time through a limited production necklace!! SEE PROMO VIDEO HERE This original design was inspired by one of the special moonbears at the rescue named “Matilda” . The newsletter is a bit late this month because I was waiting word from Jill regarding the bears name from a photo I took in Feb. You can read much more about this fundraising and sponsorship project by clicking the red PURCHASE link below WISH TO JOIN THE SPONSORSHIP WITHOUT A NECKLACE ? Weeks of preparation in the design and the videos went into this project. I would love to raise enough to either BEFRIEND or SPONSOR a bear by October 1, 2010. If you are interested in joining the project but not wanting a necklace you can donate 25.00 at the PAYPAL link below. Your name will be added to the list of contributors. THIS BUTTON IS FOR CONTRIBUTIONS ONLY (no jewelry purchase) Purchase your pendant here Below you can see the stunning display and travel tin this necklace comes in. What a wonderful gift for an animal loving friend. The moonbears are needing our help desperately so every contribution helps and spreading the word about their plight in the bile farms is very important.
