As I hummed to the theme from Sponge Bob Square Pants, I created this awesome new necklace inspired by the sand and the sea!
A favorite Spongebob quote comes to mind as well…..
“I’m so cold, I can use my nose drippings as chopsticks”. – Spongebob Squarepants
Well I guess that wasn’t the best quote for this post but it brings up a vivid “visual” none the less…hee hee! Feelin a bit nautical right tonite!
The focal “stone” has a hole towards the bottom that is filled with barnacles and looks wet, just as the tide is receding from the shore!! The pendant is half “wet” and half “dry”.
The raised fused glass speckled area is very organic and reminds me of the surreal critters that live in the tidepools….just a hint of turquoise blue to add a bit of color
The beads in the necklace are really special. I got these “nut” beads in Chiang Mai last year and have been saving them for the perfect necklace. They are sturdy as iron but light a as a feather!!!
The brown vintage lucite nuggets reminded me of driftwood and add even more organic accents to the design. Small to medium, matte and shiny black beads fill in between to echo the shiny/matte finished of the pendant.
The back of the necklace is adjustable and has a nut bead charm as well as a sterling fishie charm from Thailand. The matching earrings feature 2 more of the little fishies on black anodized aluminum rings.
This signature neckpiece is a stunner in person!! The shiny water just glistens as you move and people will notice it every time you wear it. A big bonus is that this will go with pretty much every outfit you can imagine
More tidepool designs on the way this week!!!
