ITS A PENDANT…IT’S A BROOCH…ITS TOTALLY UNCORKED WEARABLE ART!!!
Just when you think you have seen it all! After our Paris trip, I was putting aside some of the wine corks I usually save from our special bottles and the inspiration hit me like a truckload of grapes heading to the winery…REPURPOSE these artistic little cylinders of natural cork trees and help reduce waste. Most of the designs work as both a brooch pin and necklace and when you aren’t wearing your UNCORKED treasure…she can be proudly displayed as a wine bottle “collar” by wrapping the rubber necklace around the bottleneck 3 times as shown.
A LIMITED SELECTION OF THESE HANDSCULPTED AND PAINTED BEAUTIES WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS WEEK
WHEN: Wines-day (Wednesday) June 12, 2013, 1:00 PM PST (adjust for your time zone)

This WWF video below is very enlightening about the production of cork in the ancient cork oak forests. Did you know that the use of synthetic corks (touted as more environmentally friendly by many) is actually hurting the environment, animal habitat, and the cork industry? The biggest threat to the environment via natural corks is when they end up in landfills
THAT’S WHERE UNCORKED JEWELRY COMES IN!!! SAVING THE WORLD…ONE BOTTLE OF WINE AT A TIME!!
SEE YOU THIS WEDNESDAY!
It takes the Cork Oak Tree about 25 years before the cork can be harvested from it. After that cork can be harvested from the tree every 9 years, but only cork from the very first harvest of a tree is suitable for wine corks.
