OUR BOAT CAPTAIN TOOK THIS SHOT. WE HAVE BECOME EXPERTS AT THE “TOURIST” PHOTO POSE
Ciao my friends. Wow what a wonderful day we had. First a really relaxing morning shopping in the cobblestone alleyways, for designer goodies, they a stroll around the Piazza to take in all the sites, sounds and smells of the city. The outdoor cafes face the piazza where mimes do their thing, horse drawn carriages carry camera laden tourists and the sun literally glows with the promise of the Mediterranean warmth of the day yet to come.
We had booked a guide for the late afternoon to take advantage of perfect evening light, to drive us to LAKE GARDA which is Italys largest lake only 1/2 hour away. The mini tour took us through the infamous vineyards of the area with very old vines bursting with the fresh green foliage of spring. The vines here are about 3 weeks ahead of Oregon it looks like. We went into some hills full of history and views for some photo opportunities, then on to the Peninsula on the lake .
I’ve been having a hard time dowloading my pix in Smugmug so I switched to Flickr slideshow which I hope is better. Let me know if this is working ok for you or if you have problems viewing it. There are only 100 out of about 400 great shots I got today here but only limited time to work on the now. Each blog post takes about 2 1/2 hours or more so my early mornings and late evenings are spent in the “dark room”….lol literally.
THERE I AM ON THE DRAWBRIDGE OF THE CASTLE. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE HOUSE COLOR BEHIND
Today we have Alberto guiding us again and can’t wait. Morning is for strolling and shopping again and afternoon we hit the countryside to view some of Italy’s finest villas!!! I’m so excited and so is Ek. Will update with more photos tonite….
LAST BUT NOT LEAST….THE VINEYARD PHOTOS ARE ESPECIALLY FOR YOU STEVE..MISS YOU TONS!
