Building a new bird feeding station for the live cam!!

I love a good garden project in mid winter and this year I came up with something that confused the heck out of my garden helper Felix at first but we got it worked out and the framework will be finished tomorrow!  What I asked for was a framework made out of fence posts that would be used for suspending the bird feeders as close to my studio window as possible to bring the birds as close to the  LIVE STUDIO CAM as possible

Above you will see the sidewalk to my front door which left of the studio window .

This area is getting a wonderful makeover for 2009!! I have always had my studio looking out of this large window in our 1955 Ranch, but this inner yard has been our puppy yard for 10 years…..totally puppy proof but BORING!!!

Outside the fence is our HUGE perennial garden and it’s a real showpiece but I’m tired of looking at a bare fence and woodchips on the “inside” space. Now that we aren’t breeding dogs anymore ………it’s TIME for a renovation of this smaller blank slate of an area.

I have a LIVE WINDOW cam running from dawn till dusk on weekdays pandarazzi.com/livecam/ and have quite a nice following already with guests coming in to say hello over coffee in the mornings.  Mondays are  my squirrel feed with goodies galore being tossed out to the grey and douglas squirrels.  It gets insane out there during the feeding frenzy’s

These beams you see are the new support system for my bird feeders, hanging plants and windchimes. The squirrels get the feeders on the Douglas Firs to keep them off the bird’s food.

I am adding a water feature here as soon as it warms up. This project is so exciting!!! The pix I am able to get of the birds in such close proximity are the best I have taken yet.

I’ll be at the cam  tomorrow AM  talking about my critters.  It’s supposed to get near 60 degrees so it should be a great cam watching day!!

See you for coffee around 8:00 AM PST!!
