mAN I am so tired to day I can hardly write but wanted to drop in to say hi and show you a few pix. Tomorrow we leave for South Africa and I really should be in bed. It’s well after 2:00 am here and I just can’t sleep…..too excited and too much rich wonderful food I’m sure
The photo above is one of the 50 mini teddybears I brought with me to give away to strangers. It is such a wonderful icebreaker when kids and adults see this hanging from my white cane. The language barriers break completely when I give one away which is the plan…a random act of “bearfitti” per day (or bear feetie????) Yesterday a little 4 year old French boy ran up and hugged Steve when we said BonJour to him…I gave him the bear and he literally did a little dance on the sidewalk.
This was a super find today. We were looking for markets in the rain and happened upon a wholesale district of nothing but jewelry findings and beads~~~ a real diamond in the rough this neighbor hood was. It was fairly run down and hidden in narrow alley ways. Check out the toggles. I had to hide the camera to take pix as the dealers didn’t want photos taken of items the designers were going to be using in next year’s line. I was sneeeeeeeeeeeeky!
Steve is gonna shoot me for posting this!!! I call it “Art Appreciation in Stevie land” Honestly he loves the museums as much as I do and was just caught in a “moment” in front of one of the most famous masterpieces ever created! OMG The D’Orsay Museum was phenomenal….it’s our second time there and we could go back tomorrow if we had the time!! It was the Impressionist exhibit going on so I was in heaven!!! More pix to come. The internet is costing a fortune here and Steve and I are taking turns fighting over the laptop..lol! Thank you all for leaving comments on the blog~~~~ I soooooooooo look forward to hearing from you
Oh Vinnie~~~ He’s my main man!!!! This portrait always makes me cry
