Oh what a treat!! Just a few minutes ago I was sitting at my new computer station in front of the picture window in the studio and all of a sudden the snow started coming down softly like in a Xmas globe
My first hint of the white stuff coming down wasn’t the snow itself, but seeing Meg out of the corner of my eye racing around the yard by herself ….the happiest feet I have seen on her in years!!
Then I let Lillian out to play and her and Meg ran and ran and had me laughing so hard I could hardly take photos! I’m not sure Lillian has EVER seen snow until now. You should see Meg right now as I write…..snoring and sleeping like a baby at my feet! Wore her little self out!
This is something to see. My Abutilon is in full bloom. The hummingbirds come to it daily for nectar still as well as my feeder to supplement their diet. Ah hah..just caught him through the studio window!! Looks like he’s at the Christmas punch bowl!!
Seeing snow behind the bloom is amazing. I am looking now and there is a lot more accumulation and the light is better. I need to go out and get more pix of the flowering shrubs.
Here’s Meg at the threshold of the door, play bowing to coax us outside to play with her. She loves to be chased.
The Japanese Maple……more pix to come later today!!!! I need to get bundled up …there are too many great pix to be had!! Diana you are laughing at me aren’t you…my whole family in Minnesota is laughing because I hear it’s 20 below zero today there. Brrrrrrrrrr! My 32 degrees above zero is enuf!
JUST CAUGHT ANOTHER THE HUMMINGBIRD..THIS IS CALLED “SNOW ANGEL”
Sandra,You are about 10F warmer than us. We are at 22F and with the wind chill probably about 10F…. My chows are outside racing around, with chow zoomies, soon they will want in the house.Have a wonderful wintery day, keep warm, and I cant wait to see the new pics you post.Ciao,Sherrie
Lovely! I don’t think I’ll ever see snow in Florida where I am now, but I used to love watching my dogs play in it in California. Enjoy!!!
It’s still “warm” here (for now) about 37 in the cities with rain. The cold comes in later today (-5 over night with -30 wind chills) Aren’t you glad you’re in OR? 😉 I LOVE the hummingbird photo with the snow on the feeder. Gorgeous! And Meg and Lil’ Lillian look adorable in the snow. Lots of Love!
No snow here in Kelso, it’s colder than cold, but no white stuff. Not Fair! Snow in all directions around me, darn banana belt Snow North in Seattle and South Portland, but nothing here.
Sandy, Sophie does the exact same thing as Meg…,she too loves to be chased!!! Romeo just started it too, a week ago! What a riot!!!In Ridgefield it just started to get white @ 10:15. Dennis just left for 4 days in Mexico with his company. He took SUNSCREEN!!!
Meg is really taking off..Love the hummingbird at the feeder and “snow angel” Will be expecting some really cold weather later on today . I’m staying in and ordering my groceries to be delivered. Brrr!
HI ALL—Yes Sandra—I’m laughing at you and your ‘cold’. Early this AM it was 42 degrees. It is 1:15 PM and the temp is now 21. And they are predicting much colder–weather shock for sure! Rebecca, it’s good to hear about your chowdren. Eunice, you stay warm and safe up there! And to everyone who has commented-I enjoy it so-o-o-o much. I guess I am a bit of a lurker–have time to read and laugh-not so much time to post. Today has been spent loading up the feeders for the squirrels and birds, and laundry and cleaning and back to work tomorrow. Keep posting—I love it!
Yes, everyone can feel sorry for Diana and I it dropped from 45 this a.m. to about 5 now with a -20 wind chill factor! It has also decided to snow. Our chows love it and all came in with snow coverd frosty faces! Love the pictures Sandy! Happy dogs!!
OMG YOU GUYS!!!! This is bad. i know sandy can take the MN weather, so that snow cover in portland is just like frosting on a gorgeous cake. and the dogs love it so much!!!! Yikes…..here in MN it is 6 below with 25 below windchill. just reading that makes me wanna climb into bed and thats what im gonna do….soon! tomorrow will be a day to stay in all day and catch up on work!!!! brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! i think winter is upon us!!! stay warm Eunice…….i know you arent that far from me. dont even think about leaving that house!!!!!!
SNOWANGEL is an exquisite work of art. you must make this into a print!!!!! perfecto!
Hi everyone!! Thank you all soooooooo much for yoru comments…like Diana I look so forward to hearing from each and every one of you. Sometimes it takes me a day to get back here but I always do…lol!
It is soooooooo cold out. I was worried my hummers would die over night. I got up first thing in the AM and thawed the feeder and changed their nectar. Finally about 10:00 am they started coming in to feed and have been at the trough all day non stop.
I need ot get more pix. We have never had snow stay more than an hour or so here. It’s sticking but good. My poor banana tree is complaining VERY loudly!!
Will post more pix later tonite….Hugs
Sandra
