2024 Year of the Dragon

As we head into 2024, I have been getting a new Chow design ready for the Chinese Lunar Year of the Dragon which falls on Saturday, February 10th !! This artwork was created especially for the occasion yet is relevant year round with the watercolor chow and dragon dancing in happy bright pastels.

Amidst crimson lanterns, a beautiful Chow dog named Fulin, ears perked, hears ancient tales from a wise dragon. Eyes gleaming with wonder, he anticipates Lunar New Year’s arrival, ready to embrace the spirit of the season.

As the dragon whispers, the Chow Chow dreams of dancing alongside the mythical creature in a Celestial celebration of the dragon dance in the Year of the Dragon 2024.

The red envelope, or “hongbao,” is a cherished tradition during Chinese New Year. Symbolizing good luck and prosperity, these vibrant envelopes are filled with money and gifted to family members, especially children and unmarried individuals.

The act of giving and receiving red envelopes represents the transfer of blessings and positive energy. It is believed that the money ensures a fortunate start to the lunar new year. This timeless custom fosters a sense of joy, unity, and the hopeful anticipation of a prosperous future for both the giver and the recipient.
