ADD A TOUCH OF SAFFRON…Our bathroom transformation

Our bathroom on Friday to the left....and four days later on the right

This little 8×8′ bath is attached to our master bedroom while the larger bath is down the hallway.  I think this originally was part of a breezeway that was converted at a later time on our 1955 ranch.  The skylight has always been a nice feature but the bathroom itself has needed a facelift for quite some time.

The photos below show the changes that happened between Saturday and today.   The room is far from done but I thought you might like to see the progression of the painting job.  I managed to save some money too by refreshing our light fixtures with Kilz primer and Krylon spray paint.   I love to keep the 1950’s fixtures where possible.

THE START OF THE TRANSFORMATION OF OUR YUCKY PINK WALLS
THE VANITY AREA "BEFORE" , BEING PREPPED FOR PAINTING

I HAVE HAD GREAT LUCK WITH KRYLON "FUSION" PAINT FOR METAL IN THE BATH

THE FRESHENED UP LIGHT FIXTURE BACK IN PLACE...WHAT A DIFFERENCE

AND HERE IS THE PAINTED ROOM ..READY FOR NEW HARDWARE ETC

THE VANITY AREA WILL BE GETTING A MOSAICED COUNTER TOP SOON!

A WIDE ANGLE SHOT...THE SHOWER DOOR IS GETTING DRESSED UP SOON

I SPENT AN ENTIRE DAY JUST MASKING AND CRISPING UP WHERE THE SAFFRON/BLACK MEET

THIS INDONESIAN BATIK WAS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE COLORS ....ON A BATH TOWEL HUNT NOW!

 THE FUN PART COMES NEXT…..ACCESSORIZING!!!!

As you can see in the increible horse batik above, the color palette is going to be vivid and fun!! That background is actually indigo/blackish blue and the tail is FULL of color.   Below you can see a rug I found but will never have as it is 300.00 ..OUCH.  If any of you find a leaf shaped rug under 100.00 that is for the bathroom please  let me know!!!

OOOOOH I WANT THIS RUG SO BAD!!! I MIGHT NEED TO CUT MY OWN FROM BATHROOM CARPET
