OH WOW….ALL I CAN SAY IS “OH WOW”!!!!

LEBO AT NXABEGA CAMP WEARING ONE OF MY NECKLACES

We finally got an internet connection back after being in Botswana for a week….this trip is the most surreal and mind blowing experience I have ever had!!!! I only have a moment to get a few pix up but wanted to say hello and let you know we are back South Africa and on the way to Cape town.

Last nite we had dozens of hippos chewing branches off the shrubs outside our tent…the nite before an elephant wandered into camp and scared the “you know what” out of us and our tracker who was walking us back to the tent in the dark. My heart was literally in my throat. We were in the middle of the most pristine landscape in the world and hundreds of miles from modern civilization. I cried when we had to leave. I fell in love with Botswana but am looking forward to Capetown and our long awaited visit with Bernice and Franck.

Here are a few pix right off the camera…hovering over the photo will bring up titles of where they were taken. Victoria Falls was another “must do” experience…will tell you all much more later.

Until my next update….

  5. Sandy & Steve, you’ve experienced that unbelievable magic that only Africa can bring. It’s wild, it’s at once intense & serene, beautiful … it’s impossible not to fall in love with it…
Now, you’re about to head into the other side of Southern Africa – the human side – equally wild, intense, at times serene, always colourful, often magic and impossible not to fall in love with!
Enjoy the “fairest Cape” – see you soon!!!
